What is Matcha exactly?
What exactly is matcha? In Japan, people call finely ground powder made from specially grown and processed green tea leaves “matcha” (ๆน่ถ), with “ๆน” meaning “ground” in English.
It has a vibrant green color and a rich, earthy flavor with a hint of sweetness. By grinding the entire tea leaf, people can consume the entire leaf. It is high in antioxidants and nutrients. Japanese people incorporate green tea powder into tea ceremonies, lattes, desserts, and even savory dishes like ochazuke and onigiri. ๐ต๐
